This machine has changed the home coffee brewing game. We are simply in love with this machine and cannot recommend it enough. After 6 months, we had scheduled a whole host of different brewing times via the app and even utilised the hot water dispenser for some tea. In fact, we can’t remember the last time we used a kettle!

The only big difference between the 2 is the fact the Uno uses a button interface rather than a LCD screen like the Plus. After using the machine for 6 months, we didn’t miss the LCD screen, if anything it made the entire process a lot simpler!

Which Nespresso capsule type should I buy?
There are 2 types of Nespresso Capsule available to buy. The Original Nespresso Pod and Vertuo pod machines.
The main difference is that the original system produces shots of espresso-style coffee whilst the Vertuo system is designed for longer cups of coffee.
The style of drink you prefer (long or short) should inform your choice on the type of machine you purchase.
What additional options should I look out for?
The Vertuo machines Nespresso product work by dispensing the amount of coffee with a single button. This read the volume from the capsule’s barcode after you’ve inserted it into the machine.
The Original Nespresso machines however, are different and have physical controls that require action. You want a machine that offers you options depending on the mood you are in. Looking for machines that offer at least Espresso (40ml) & Lungo (150ml) beverages.
Does the size of the machine matter?
The size of the machine is only really important when thinking about the amount of space the machine will take up, so pick the one that suits your kitchen.
Can you recycle pods?
All official Nespresso pods can be recycled. When you order capsules (online or in-store), you’ll get a free recycling bag with every purchase.
